What's actually included in a cut?
Every recurring visit includes mowing the full turf area, string-trimming everything the mower can't reach (fence lines, beds, mailbox, AC pad, tree rings), edging all hard surfaces — driveway, walkways, curb line — and blowing every clipping off hard surfaces before we leave. That's the standard visit, not an upsell.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. Recurring service is month to month. You can pause for a vacation, drop to biweekly when growth slows, or cancel entirely with a week's notice. Commercial grounds accounts are typically written as a seasonal agreement, since routes and staffing are planned around them.
How often does a North Florida lawn actually need cutting?
Through the peak growing months — roughly May through September — weekly is the honest answer. Warm-season grass here can put on serious height in seven days with afternoon storms. From November through February most lawns slow to every two to three weeks or a monthly touch-up. The turf calendar above breaks it down month by month.
My yard is completely overgrown. Will you still take it?
Yes — that's a job a lot of mowing outfits pass on and we don't. Overgrown properties are quoted as a one-time reset (flat rate, based on a look at the property or clear photos), which brings everything back to a mowable height and hauls off the debris. From there it drops onto a normal weekly or biweekly rate.
What happens after a storm?
Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, and September is historically the busiest month for the Florida peninsula. After a named system or a bad line of storms, existing maintenance customers get priority on the cleanup schedule. We handle limb, frond, and yard debris. We're a lawn and tree maintenance company — we don't do structural work, and anything involving a tree on a house or near power lines gets referred to a licensed arborist or the utility.
Do you cut my grass too short?
We follow the one-third rule: never remove more than a third of the blade in a single cut. Cutting warm-season turf too low scalps it, stresses the roots, and opens the door to weeds. St. Augustine and bahia both want to be kept relatively tall — roughly 3 to 4 inches — while centipede and zoysia run lower. If your lawn has gotten away from you, we'll bring it down over two visits rather than scalping it in one.
How do I pay?
Card on file, ACH, check, or cash. Recurring customers are invoiced after each visit or monthly, whichever you prefer. Cleanups and one-time jobs are due on completion.
Are you insured?
Yes — we carry general liability coverage, and we're happy to send a certificate of insurance before we start. Commercial and HOA clients usually need one on file, and property managers can request to be named as an additional insured.
